Juvederm
Juvederm is a dermal filler injection that smoothes wrinkles and folds while restoring volume and fullness to the skin. Juvederm is made of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the skin that hydrates and adds volume to the skin.
Juvederm is superior to other dermal fillers because it provides more natural results. It is effective in smoothing away wrinkles and folds such as around eyes, your smile lines and nasolabial folds. Juvederm injections can also be used to give the lips a fuller appearance.
How it Works
Juvederm is injected into the skin with a fine needle. The treatment temporarily reduces the appearance of wrinkles and folds while adding volume to the skin. A local anesthetic or anesthetic cream is used to numb the treatment area before the injection is administered. The injection process takes approximately 15-25 minutes and causes minimal discomfort.
Possible Side Effects
Mild to moderate side effects are possible in the week following treatment. Some of the most common temporary side effects include redness, swelling, bruising, itching, pain, tenderness, and discoloration.
What to Expect
There is minimal recovery and downtime after receiving Juvederm treatment. The results of Juvederm treatment are immediate and typically last between six to nine months. In order to maintain results after that, repeat injections are necessary.
